#1: The Commercials: I honestly watch for the great commercials. (I may slightly care about the game if my colored shirts are in the game, but the commercials still take priority.)
#2: The Food: Super Bowl Sunday, aside from Thanksgiving, is one of America's greatest days to gorge on a smorgasbord of delicious foods and snacks.
#3: Parties: Even if you don't care an ounce about football, mixing points #1 and #2 with your friends is a recipe for a great time.
With Super Bowl Sunday on its way, and chili being a common dish at parties for the big game, I'm sharing my very own chili labels with you. Drawing inspiration from a set of fun animal icons created by Martin Berube, I drew a set of six different animals to represent possible chili meats (beef, bison, chicken, venison, pork, and turkey) and designed a stand-up "tent style" label card. Along with the image to indicate the chili's meat, each label has space for the name of the chili, who made it, and a scale to rate the spiciness. Also included is a card with no meat pictured, in the event you or someone you know makes chili with some other meat not listed above.
These label cards received rave reviews when I hosted a chili party with a group of friends over the holidays. Everyone loved being able to focus on tasting the various types of deliciousness without being constantly interrupted with questions about who brought what or what was all in it. Enjoy!
