Just found out about your blog through BGG... having toyed with this exact idea of a lighter campaign using OOTS inspired artwork and paper minis, I have to say this is truly amazing! I might just have to do it now, no excuse :)
I specially liked the goblins and your take on warforged. I see skeletons are on deck, have you considered drow? Anyway, congrats :)
Thanks, I'm glad you like them! If you're interested in some drow, I have made a few already. Check out the third Eberron themed set that I made and you'll find a few: http://iheartprintandplay.blogspot.com/2012/08/eberron-35-set-3.html
You know, Dakaran, I am glad that you went with the "Monster For Every Season" version of the Order of the Stick style, rather than the actual on-line comic version: the greater detail (and indeed volume) is more appropriate for the somewhat sculptural usage of a stand-up token. I am deeply impressed by every one that you have made;* I almost wish that you WOULD take over the "OotS Monster Manual" project all by yourself, even though that would deprive us of the excellent work of, say, Sgt. Pepper or ThreeShades. Your stuff is just that dang good.
All the best!

* Well, I do have a tiny problem with the Unicorn: you have depicted them as horses with horns, whereas they should properly have split hooves, goats' beards, and lions' tails. And what's with the hearts? My Little Unicorns? *shudder*
Thank you Tannhaeuser, that means a lot coming from you. =) I have always been very impressed with your awesome line of digital miniatures. I do love the OotS Monster Manual Project, but I actually like that it's a community project that I just manage; You, Meltheim, Sgt. Pepper and so many others create really great minis of your own and I love seeing them.
As to your notes on the unicorns - The unicorn image I went off of for details is the one from the 4e Monster Manual. I did give the Dusk Unicorn the cool beard, but I did leave it off of the white one for purely personal stylistic reasons. As for the unicorn with the hearts... have you seen the show Scrubs? That's a joke from that show that always cracks me up. I made it to make me and my wife laugh and just ended up deciding to share it as well. =)
Kenkus...show an undervalued race.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see them gt some love, and awesome minis!
